Certified Orthodontic Assistant
I completed the dental assisting program at St. Petersburg Vo-Tech Institute in 1979 and received my dental assistant certification with expanded duties. I attended Indian River Community College in Fort Pierce in 1990, and completed my certified orthodontic assistant course. I joined Scott Orthodontics in 1999.
The best part of my job is helping people achieve their goal of a great and healthy smile. I enjoy working individually with patients and as a team with my coworkers. We have a great office, full of truly wonderful people.
I have been happily married to my husband Randy for nearly 40 years. We have two grown sons, a wonderful daughter-in-law, and a granddaughter. We also have two crazy cats! Outside of work, I like gardening, fishing, exercising, and traveling.
Clinic Coordinator and Certified Orthodontic Assistant
My name is Jan, and I have worked with Dr. Scott for 30 years. It has been my honor to have such a wonderful opportunity. Dr. Scott has been an amazing boss: Not only does he provide his patients with quality orthodontic treatment, but he also treats his staff with total respect. I am so grateful to work with an amazing staff. We always help one another and work to provide the patients with a great orthodontic experience.
As one of Dr. Scott’s assistants, I take care of our patients’ clinical needs and order supplies for the office. I enjoy interacting with patients and using my experience and knowledge to provide everyone with the best orthodontic experience and the best care.
I’m a proud mom who raised two wonderful sons. My sons were very athletic, so I spent many years volunteering for their sports and schools. I’m blessed to have three healthy grandchildren. My time is spent with them: helping with school and with their extracurricular activities. I enjoy taking pictures and do scrapbooking for the children.
Treatment Coordinator / Certified Orthodontic Assistant
I attended Traviss Technical College in 1996 for dental assisting and earned my certification in orthodontics when I began working for Dr. Scott in 2007. I have worked in general dentistry and endodontics, but orthodontics is what I love the most!
My day-to-day responsibilities as an orthodontic treatment coordinator include meeting new patients at their initial consultation, taking diagnostic records, and outlining orthodontic treatment options that Dr. Scott has recommended. I also detail treatment fees, outline payment plans, and explain insurance benefits.
I love interacting with patients and helping them achieve something that will make them feel better about themselves. It is so rewarding to see the positive changes that take place after patients begin treatment, start seeing results, feel better about themselves, and smile with ease.
Dr. Scott is so kind and easygoing. He has a huge heart and strives to make a positive difference in people’s lives. Our staff gets along well; we truly care about one another, and have been together for a long time. We are a family, and our office feels like home.
I was born and raised in Lakeland. After graduating from high school, I met my husband and got married in 1998. We have two boys, Trevor and Andy, who keep us busy all the time with cars and football. We also have a beloved little Persian cat named Periwinkle. In my spare time, I love to cook, spend time with friends, work outside in my cactus garden, paint, go shopping, and travel.
Sterilization and Clinical Assistant
I have been a dental assistant and sterilization tech since 2016, and have learned so much from Dr. Scott and our team since joining the office in 2018. Every day I come to work looking forward to the patients I’m going to see and talk with. Each of them is unique and wonderful, and I love the conversations that happen while I’m assisting in their orthodontic care. It is rewarding to help people obtain beautiful, straight teeth.
When I’m not at work, I like to be outdoors and go to the gym. I’m always up for a challenge, whether it’s easy or hard. I stay determined and always want to learn more!
Treatment and Insurance Coordinator / Certified Orthodontic Assistant
I joined Dr. Scott’s team in 1999. I am a certified orthodontic assistant and work as a treatment coordinator with our new patients to plan and help them understand their treatment. I follow up with patients throughout the treatment process to offer support and answer questions along the way. I am also the insurance coordinator and work with patients and parents to explore their orthodontic insurance benefits and file their claims to help minimize the out-of-pocket expense.
I have been happily married to Steve for 20 years, and we have two children. Our daughter has her private practice in Lakeland as a mental health counselor. Our son is a college student at Florida Polytechnic and has attained his private pilot's license with hopes to become a commercial airline pilot someday. In my spare time, I love riding my motorcycle, camping on weekends and enjoy cooking for my family!
Working with Dr. Scott is truly a pleasure. He is one of the best orthodontists I've ever known, and his reputation speaks for itself. We all take pride in our work and care for our patients, and it shows. It's a wonderful feeling to be a member of this great team!
Certified Orthodontic Assistant
I went to Remington Technical College in 2012 and worked as an assistant for two years before joining the Scott Orthodontics team. I appreciate working one-on-one with patients and seeing how confident they are when they get their braces off. I also enjoy the excellent teamwork we have at Scott Ortho. We all work together in the best interests of our patients.
I’m married to Derek and have a son named Cooper and a dog named Sprocket. We love the beach and going out on our boat.
I began working for Dr. Scott in 1995. As the scheduling coordinator, I work hard to schedule appointments for patients that will fit into their busy lives. In addition to schedule management, I greet new and existing patients when they visit our office and facilitate incoming calls.
I love spending time with new and existing patients when they visit our office. I enjoy working with people and feel gratified when I am able to help others. I feel very fortunate that I am able to work with such a great group of people who truly care about our patients and each other.
When I am not working, my husband and I enjoy spending time with friends and family. I have two grown children and two grandchildren. I also love to cook Italian food, and I love traveling.
I joined Scott Orthodontics in 1987 as a treatment and financial coordinator. Now I serve as our office manager, tend to bookkeeping, coordinate financials, and a little bit of everything else! It has been a pleasure to work for such an outstanding orthodontist and a wonderful person, Dr. Scott. He not only cares about his patients but he also cares about his staff. We have a wonderful team at Scott Orthodontics—in fact, we’re more like family! We’ve all been here for many years and plan on staying for many years to come! To sum it up, he’s “Simply the Best!”
In my spare time, I love camping and going to relax at beach. I also enjoy spending time with my seven grandchildren. My husband Warren and I have been married for more than 30 years and have three sons: Scott, Robert, and Bryan.
Certified Orthodontic Assistant
I was trained on the job and became a certified orthodontic assistant at the start of 2018. I love seeing the transformation of patients over the course of treatment. My favorite part is to see patients that hated to smile when they first came to the office leave with a smile from ear to ear the day they get their braces off. I also enjoy getting to talk to and know my patients; I love making their orthodontic experience enjoyable and fun.
I am so thankful for Dr. Scott and the team I work with. We all truly support and help each other in any way that we can. I know the ladies I work with have my back no matter what, both within the office setting and in my life outside of work. Dr. Scott is the best boss anyone could ask for. He genuinely cares about us as people, not just employees. He is a great teacher and leader.
I am originally from Alabama but have lived in Florida since middle school. I have a dog who’s like my child. When I have free time, I enjoy being outdoors, traveling, and experiencing new things.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in public relations from the University of Florida in 2009 and brought my knowledge and experience to Dr. Scott’s office in 2018. I oversee, develop, and deliver our marketing and communication efforts to the wonderful Lakeland community. I love bringing our patients’ stories to life. We have a dedicated and hard-working team that creates beautiful smiles, and it is rewarding to communicate such positive stories and results.
There is a high standard of excellence in our office, and it is empowering to work among a group of individuals who share a common goal: to deliver the best result for our patients, and to make our patients like part of the family along the journey.
I met my husband, Dr. Jon, during our undergraduate studies at the University of Florida. The greatest blessings in our lives are our two young children, Robert and Ellie. We also have a Golden Retriever named Lady. In my free time, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, horseback riding, running, and almost anything outside to soak up the beautiful Florida sunshine.
Certified Orthodontic Assistant
I began my career as an orthodontic assistant 1998 and joined Dr. Scott’s team in 1999. I enjoy being an active part of our patients’ treatment and appreciate knowing that I’ve played a role in helping them feel better about themselves and get a great smile. Our office displays great communication and teamwork: things our patients can see from the moment they come into the office.
I have been with my husband for more than 30 years. Our children have four legs and fur: we have three dogs, four cats, and a gecko! I also take care of six community cats in my neighborhood and three at our office. My husband and I like to do home improvement projects and help others in our neighborhood in our free time.
